Architects: SHOVK in collaboration with 19 Būro
Area: 6000 sq. m
Location: Bali, Indonesia
Project year: 2024
The resulting interior is a curated dialogue between the two styles: warm mustard-toned plaster and aged wood form a grounding backdrop for crisp, contemporary accents – stainless steel, industrial lighting, and a sculptural metal staircase. The contrast is not jarring, but harmonious. It’s a spatial narrative where history and modernity meet in quiet balance.
On the Cliffs of Uluwatu – A Place to Unwind
Perched on the dramatic cliffs of Uluwatu – one of Bali’s most atmospheric locations – these apartments are part of a boutique wellness hotel designed for deep rest and retreat.
The architects set out to create a space that evokes serenity – not through ornamentation, but through mindful materiality and a sense of calm. There is no visual noise here – only softness and breath.
Sensory Architecture Rooted in Nature
The interiors are designed to feel almost elemental – deeply connected to their environment rather than competing with it. Low, grounded furniture and a careful play of indirect light create an atmosphere of comfort and depth.
This is not merely the apartment – it’s a philosophy made physical: a place to reconnect, reflect, and simply be.
