The modernist building of the former brewery of Richert (1908), situated in the old central part of Kyiv —  Podil, nowadays is in disrepair and continues to collapse. To draw attention to the outstanding architectural monument, which Kyiv may lose, and to attract investors to it, we created a design proposal for the revitalization of the factory and associated areas.

To bring a life into this monument and make an attraction point of it, it was crucial to fill it with new functions. Thus, we propose to create a public space that will combine several functions at once: on the one hand, cultural function (museum, gallery, and library), and commercial function (offices, studios, coworking, and trading spaces, food courts) on the other hand. Public space should become a venue for festivals, fairs, and other cultural events as well as become a place for citizens to relax and socialize.

At the start of the work, we made an accurate 3D model of the modernist factory and cleared the territory of the outbuildings that humper the perception of an architectural monument. These steps enabled the construction of two new buildings: a one-story glass building, which will be occupied with a restaurant, and a three-story stainless steel building, which will be connected to the main building through the underground space.
